Guanajuato, Guanajuato

Guanajuato is the capital of Guanajuato. It's located 230 miles northwest of Mexico City. Guanajuato is surrounded by mountains. The frog is the symbol of Guanajuato. It has numerous mines of gold and silver that were exploded by townspeople over 500 years ago. Guanajuato has many beautiful places you can go visit. Some would be "El Pípila," which is a huge statue that represents a mine-worker, whose name was Juan Jose Martinez.

El Callejon del Beso (The Kissing Alley)
The alley is only 68 cm wide. It got it's name because of a legend. The legend tells the story of two young lover whose families opposed their love. They would secretly meet at their window balconies. One day while they were secretly seeing each other the girl's father caught them when they were about to kiss. The father killed the young man there. They say that the coulples that go and kiss on the third stair step are guranteed seven years of happiness.

El Mueso de Las Momias (Mummy Museum)
(smallest mummy in the museum)
Guanajuato is also known for its mummy musem. The mummies have characteristics that denote desperate and horrific awakening in the narrow space of being buried alive. In most cases the real death preceded by moments of serenity, with no signs of suffering. The museum has over 100 mummies.

There is alot of beautiful places in Guanajuato these are three of the major ones.
